Bottega Veneta

This season for Bottega Bottega Veneta we see lots of neutral tones and flowy silhouettes. White’s, taupe’s and brown’s. A very 50’s esque collection that is ultra feminine. Tomas Maier has made me a happy girl! I love it and hope that we’ll be seeing more of this style this fall/winter.

Burberry’s show had lots of black’s, white’s and grey’s. Christopher Bailey, the Creative Director for this fashion house, in my opinion really nailed it for this season. There was fur and scarves and similar to many other shows, lots of flowy silhouettes.

At the Dolce & Gabbana show we saw lots of colour, lace and a reminder of the 50’s with the big puffy dress sporting Marilyn’s face. Very old Hollywood! We also saw big shoulders reminiscent of the 80’s which we were all trying to forget! I’m pretty sure its unavoidable at this point.

Oh gosh! I am truly upset for having NOT been at the DSquared show in Milan. Wow! This is what fall/winter means to me. A causal, very DSquared look with lots of layering, scarves and leather jackets. Oh, this is love! And the Starbucks carried by all the models really stole the show. A truly great collection this season.

Gucci on the other hand, went a complete other way. In fact, a lot more masculine than any of the other shows. We masculine suits, sharp shoulder (oh no, again!) and lots of leggings. Every dress in this collection was short with a set of funky leggings to boot. Not a lot of colour but a bit of fur was present.

Missoni, in classic Missoni style, showed lots of layering, baggy silhouettes and neutral tones. Not much to say about this collection. It was definitely signature Missoni and that’s what we love!

Oh Prada. Gaping neck lines, feminine waistlines and dark colours. The whole collection had a very 70’s feel to it – in a not-so-tacky way. I could definitely see the Devil in Prada for fall/winter!

I’ve saved my favourite for last! Actually, it just so happens that it’s last alphabetically, but whose actually keeping track!

In my opinion, Versace’s show stole the glamour from all the others in Milan. It was absolutely magnificent. While there was a lot of black’s and grey’s, I chose to show my favourites, which were the Jewel tones, sequins, silks and more! I’m not sure what else I can say other than I would trade body parts to be caught in ANY of the items on that runway! Donatella, you are definitely doing well!
